Research Poll: Offshoring’s Image - Greed and Layoffs
Secrecy is key to offshoring - to keep the public uninformed. Eyebrows
must have been raised when the results of an Opinion Research Poll (according
to Computerworld) revealed that out of 1000 Americans surveyed outsourcing translated
to corporate greed and layoffs. |

UK bank Barclays are in the process of offshoring their internal helpdesk to India.
Up to 140 UK workers could lose their jobs as a result of this move. |

The Guardian has today reported that British Gas is to axe 2000 UK back office workers and move their jobs to India. Trade union Unison has vowed to fight these plans "all the way".
